The Canute Duathlon series is the creation of four local multisport athletes who have raced extensively across Europe over the past decade, taking part in triathlon, duathlon, marathons, road racing, trail running and cycle racing. We are passionate about all aspects of our sport and want to share that passion with others. We live and train in and around Cheshire and the Peak District and believe that it is best experienced when you are either on your bike or running through the beautiful local scenery.
Our aim is to deliver a series of high quality, accessible and affordable events in the Cheshire and North Wales area that offers children of all abilities the opportunity to take their first steps in multi-sport.
Having raced at events both large and small, including triathlon World Championships, we know what makes a good event and what is important to athletes and the spectators. Our aim is to use this experience to make you feel comfortable and confident in stepping up to "Conquer Canute."
Helen got into multi-sport events in 2011 following a running injury and a bet after some drinks with friends. She has since raced multiple duathlons and every triathlon distance from sprint to Ironman. She's also a qualified coach and personal trainer and when she isn't racing or training you will find her baking or chatting on the Oxygen Addict Triathlon podcast.
Originally a rugby player, then a mountain biker, Rich can now more often be found in lycra tearing around the local time trial circuits on his bike. Since being encouraged into triathlon by his friends and his wife Helen, Rich has definitely "caught the bug" and has raced up to middle distance (tri), completed various duathlons and is looking forward to doing the London Marathon.
Vicky grew up doing many different sports and went on to become a PE teacher. In 2008 she gave up hockey to put more time into running. After having two children she decided to take up multi-sport for the variety and has met some brilliant people along the way. Vicky has raced in both triathlons and duathlons and is now taking up coaching. Vicky also leads the Run Knutsford group.
Originally a competitive amateur road cyclist over in Ireland, Eoin swapped pedalling for hockey and jujitsu, and can now regularly be found turning out for the Knutsford Hockey Club Men's Second Team where he plays in defence.
